Learn about PIMs

The ABIM PIMsm Practice Improvement Modules are Web-based tools that enable physicians to conduct a confidential self-evaluation of the medical care that they provide. Each module offers an opportunity for physicians to review current clinical practice guidelines and their own practice.

PIMs help physicians gain knowledge about their practices through self-evaluation, analysis and the development of a plan to target areas for improvement. ABIM has made PIMs available to other ABMS boards for the purpose of allowing their members tools for their Maintenance of Certification programs.

Other ABMS boards will need to work with ABIM to become a sponsoring board to make these tools available to their members. Other ABMS boards that are already sponsors can login here to manage their permissions and PIMs. To learn more about PIMs, view PIM demonstrations or choose a PIM on which to work.
