The below ABMS Boards recognize the ABIM PIMsm Practice Improvement Module in their Maintenance of Certification programs. Contact them for more information on how non-internists can use ABIM PIMs to earn Maintenance of Certification credit and recognition from health plans.
The American Board of Allergy and Immunology
The American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI) will grant Maintenance of Certification credit to ABAI-certified physicians who complete an ABIM Asthma, HIV, Communication Referring Physician or Communication Subspecialist PIM. All of these PIMs may be completed individually or as part of a group practice of ABAI and/or ABIM-certified physicians.
The American Board of Family Medicine
The American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) will grant Maintenance of Certification credit to ABFM diplomates who complete an ABIM PIM in a group setting within a mixed practice. PIMs completed by a mixed group may be eligible for reward or recognition from participating health plans.
