Self-Evaluation of Practice Performance
ABIM diplomates who are maintaining Certification are required to complete 20 points in Self-Evaluation of Practice Performance. ABIM offers a tool to complete the practice performance requirement – the ABIM PIMsm Practice Improvement Module.
A PIM is a web-based tool that enables physicians to conduct a confidential self-evaluation of the medical care that they provide. PIMs help physicians gain knowledge about their practices through analysis of data from the practice and the development and implementation of a plan to target areas for improvement. PIMs are part of ABIM’s Maintenance of Certification program, within the Self-Evaluation of Practice Performance requirement.
Each PIM was developed by a team of physicians with clinical and quality expertise. ABIM continues to advance the PIMs to help physicians improve the quality of care they provide in their practices.
Additional information on PIMs and Other Practice Performance Options are available in the Improve Your Practice with PIMs section.
