Patient identifiers within PIM chart reviews, provided for physician use during data collection, are not saved anywhere in ABIM information system. All patient data collected are anonymous and HIPAA compliant.

When ABIM uses practice performance data or other information for research purposes, including collaboration with other investigators and scientific publications, we do not identify specific individuals, hospitals or practice associations. Additional information on HIPAA compliance.
