Description
ABIM hosts a faculty development course called: "Evaluation of Clinical Competence: Assessment and Evaluation Skills for Core and General Faculty in a New Era." This intensive five-day course is designed exclusively to train faculty to evaluate clinical competence across the six Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) general competencies, and specifically addresses the ACGME core faculty training requirements for assessment, evaluation, and direct observation.
Course Objective
To train faculty to evaluate clinical competence across the six ACGME general competencies. The course content specifically addresses ACGME core faculty training requirements for assessment, evaluation, and direct observation. At the completion of this course, participants will be eligible to receive up to 40 AMA PRA Category 2 Credit(s)™, as well as a certificate of recognition for course completion.

- Direct Observation Skills / Feedback
- How to Evaluate the ACGME General Competencies
- Systematic Review of Evaluation Tools
- Working with Problem and Marginal Residents
- Teaching and Evaluating Practice-Based Learning and Improvement and Systems-Based Practice

Any faculty member who evaluates residents; core faculty members specifically seeking skill development in assessment, evaluation, and direct observation.
