December - March
- Exam registration for Internal Medicine
March - June
- Exam registration for Subspecialties
August
- Initial Internal Medicine Certification Examination is administered
- All residents must finish training on or before August 31st in order to take the initial Internal Medicine Certification examination administered earlier in August of the same year.
October
- All fellows must finish training on or before October 31st in order to take a Subspecialty examination in the same year.
- All residents and fellows must first become certified in Internal Medicine to be eligible to take a Subspecialty examination.
- The Internal Medicine and Subspecialty examinations may not be taken in the same year.
