Additional information regarding the Neurocritical Care Certification Exam can be found on ABPN’s website.

Exam Development

The Neurocritical Care Certification Program, jointly developed by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA), the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM), the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS), and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), is designed to recognize excellence among those with special expertise in this field. The requirements for all Boards are similar. The examination will be administered to candidates from all five Boards at the same time in the same testing centers. The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology is responsible for administering the exam. The standard for passing the exam will be identical for all Boards.
