ABIM has issued more than 220,000 certificates in internal medicine.

"A practicing physician with a broad scope of medical knowledge, Marie understands firsthand the challenges facing primary care today,” said Christine K. Cassel, MD, ABIM's President and CEO. "Her insight and experience will make her a valuable addition to our Board."

"I am privileged to be a part of an organization that is as passionate about ensuring physician quality as I am," said Dr. Brown. "It is an honor to serve on ABIM's Board, and I look forward to addressing some of the key issues related to internal medicine reform."

Dr. Brown has been practicing internal medicine and geriatric medicine in Oak Park, IL for the past 20 years.
