American Board of Internal Medicine Announces New Board Leadership and Members

Philadelphia, PA, July 1, 2009 – The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) today named new leadership and members of its Board of Directors and Subspecialty Boards which encompass the field of internal medicine.

“The experience and skills these professionals bring to ABIM are impressive. Their expertise will be extremely valuable as we work to determine the requirements and qualifications for internal medicine physicians to certify and maintain certification in their chosen subspecialty,” said Christine K. Cassel, MD, President and CEO of ABIM.

ABIM Board of Directors

ABIM sets the standards and certifies physicians practicing in internal medicine and its subspecialties who possess the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to provide high quality care. New Executive Appointments

ABIM Subspecialty Boards' New Appointments

ABIM's Subspecialty Boards are composed of experts in both academic medicine and practice, all of whom must be ABIM certified in their particular subspecialty.
