For assessment dates that are offered to candidates who have a documented disability that requires a special testing schedule, please see the Special Accommodation dates below.

* In order to take this assessment online (outside of a test center at a location of your choosing) you must perform and pass a system check on the computer you plan to use to take the exam.

Please note: You can choose to take the Knowledge Check-In in Critical Care Medicine in either 2020 or 2021, but not during both years. This is a special situation as normally Knowledge Check-Ins are offered every-other-year. In this case both 2020 and 2021 are considered “no consequences,” so you can choose the one that works best for you. If you are looking to reinstate a lapsed certificate in Critical Care Medicine, you’ll need to take the traditional 10-year MOC exam.

  • All deadlines are as of 11:59 p.m. ET (Eastern time) on the dates listed above.
  • All dates are subject to change.

  • Cancellation deadline is two (2) days prior to scheduled examination date. (Example: For exams scheduled May 17, the cancellation deadline would be 11:59 p.m. ET on May 15.)
  • It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to be aware of and comply with seat scheduling deadlines. In fairness to all candidates, ABIM adheres firmly to its published seat scheduling deadlines for its examinations. Candidates are encouraged to apply early in the seat scheduling period.
  • Exam results Detailed score reports will be released within one to three months of the exam date.
