Erica N. Johnson, MD, FACP, FIDSA, Named ABIM Senior Vice President for Academic and Medical Affairs
Philadelphia, July 18, 2024 -- Erica N. Johnson, MD, FACP, FIDSA, has been named the new Senior Vice President for Academic and Medical Affairs at ABIM. Dr. Johnson spent the last nine years as the Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore and is also Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious disease.

Furman S. McDonald, MD, MPH, Named ABIM President and CEO
PHILADELPHIA – Following an extensive six-month national search, the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Board of Directors has unanimously selected Furman S. McDonald, MD, MPH, to lead the organization. Dr. McDonald will serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of both ABIM and the ABIM Foundation, effective September 1.
