Technical assistance on the day of your Knowledge Check-In assessment is available by chatting with a Pearson VUE agent. We are here to help! You may also call 800-606-0259 to reach an ABIM Customer Relationship Advocate, in the event you are unable to connect to a Pearson VUE agent.

macOS Update Affects Physicians Taking Knowledge Check-In Remotely Expand/Collapse the ABIM alert.

If you are scheduled to take the Knowledge Check-In remotely and use an Apple device running the latest macOS (Catalina), ABIM was recently made aware of a technical issue that may affect your ability to take the Knowledge Check-In.

The macOS update does not include support for Adobe Air, meaning the software used to deliver the Knowledge Check-In online is not compatible with systems running on Catalina as of October 7, 2019.

If you are taking the Knowledge Check-In on a Mac and want to confirm your system is still compatible, please take the system check again. If you are unable to access a compatible system or would like to reschedule to a test center, please call our dedicated physician support line at 1-800-606-0259 as soon as possible.

QI/PI Activities

The Practice Assessment option for earning MOC points gives ABIM Board Certified physicians the opportunity to participate in activities that help to improve the quality of patient care in their practice.

Quality Improvement/Practice Improvement (QI/PI) activities should include identifying an improvement opportunity in your practice, implementing a change to address that opportunity, and measuring the impact of your change.

You can earn MOC points for many QI/PI projects you are doing in practice through your medical specialty societies, hospitals, medical groups, clinics or other health-related organizations.

Find a QI/PI activity:

Visit CME Finder for QI/PI activities that earn both CME credit and MOC points.

Choose a QI/PI activity from the list below.

Important Reminders:

  • Contact the sponsoring organization directly for more information about the activity.
  • The sponsoring organization may charge additional fees separate from ABIM's MOC fee.
  • Eligibility to participate in a specific activity may be restricted by your professional affiliation or location.
  • For external activities that were completed in the prior calendar year, ABIM will accept retroactive MOC credit through March 31. No other retroactive MOC credit will be accepted.
