Program directors of internal medicine residencies and fellowships accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) can earn 20 ABIM Maintenance of Certification (MOC) points in Practice Assessment annually in recognition of the quality improvement (QI) work intrinsic to their roles.

Additionally, program directors can attest to meaningful QI participation for faculty within their programs, granting them 20 Practice Assessment MOC points.

QI in GME Faculty Key Submission Dates

Credit for Current Academic Year

1. Sign in to FasTrack using your program’s FasTrack credentials. 
2. Select the "MOC for QI” link in the top right-hand corner of the page.
3. Enter ABIM IDs for the program director and faculty to award 20 MOC points. Look up your faculty ABIM IDs using the Check a Certification tool. 
   • If your program submitted faculty in FasTrack in the previous academic year, select “Populate List” to add all faculty members who were submitted for the previous year. Remove anyone who is no longer serving as faculty in your program.
4. Complete and Submit the form to earn credit for the current academic year.

Note: The deadline to submit for the current academic year is June 30.

Claim Credit for Previous Academic Years

1. Download the retroactive participant form (.xlsx).
2. Complete the following sections of the form.
   • ABIM ID
   • Faculty name (first name, last name)
   • Date of birth (month and day only)
   • Unreported years of eligibility
3. Email the completed form to mocpd@abim.org with the program director copied.

How Far Back Can I Claim Credit?

Retroactive credit can be requested for up to the previous four academic years.

Eligible ACGME-accredited Programs without FasTrack Access

Program directors of ACGME-accredited programs in ABIM subspecialty fellowships may also attest to meaningful QI participation for themselves and eligible faculty within their programs to grant them 20 Practice Assessment MOC points. Credit can be requested for the current year and the previous four academic years.

2. Complete the following sections of the form:
   • ABIM ID
   • Faculty name (first name, last name)
