New Monthly Notification for MOC Points Earned Expand/Collapse the ABIM alert.

Beginning this fall, ABIM will transition to sending monthly email summaries of CME/MOC points earned instead of immediate notifications. This means you’ll receive fewer emails, while still being able to track your points in real time in your Physician Portal.

ABIM will be closed from 1:00 p.m. Friday, 8/29/25 through Monday, 9/1/25 Expand/Collapse the ABIM alert.

Our offices will re-open on Tuesday, 9/2/25 at 8:30 a.m. ET. For your convenience, you may contact us by email at request@abim.org.

Preparing for the Exam

As a program director, faculty member, fellow or chief resident, you are expected to stress the importance of integrity and ethical behavior among your residents and fellows. We recognize that preparing for their board exams can be a very stressful time and hope that you convey to both trainees and faculty the seriousness of item sharing, cheating or illicit board review, and go over the possible consequences of such behavior to their career and program with them.

As they prepare for the exam, we suggest that you:

  • Refer them to the Professional Integrity and Exam Ethics section of this website.
  • Pre-approve your candidates’ board curriculum/syllabus.
  • Check in on board prep sessions within your program as you would with morning reports and noon conferences.
